Hello Hi Blogverse,
In an attempt to branch out and watch some new and different genres of movies, series and documentaries instead of rewatching my favourites over and over again, as I did in my infant years with The Aristocats, I will be keeping track of what I watch in this post. Please note that I will only be including movies and series that I’ve watched for the first time this year because, let’s face it, there are definitely going to be some favourites creeping in that I’ll be rewatching.
If you have any recommendations of what I should watch next, please leave them in the comment section below ♡
⭐ I highly recommend this
👍 I recommend this
👎 I don’t recommend this
Risky Business (1983)- 👎
Tom Cruise dancing and sliding across the floor in his tighty whities are about the best bit.
Much Ado About Nothing (1993) – 👍
Shakespeare + Keanu Reeves …uh YES PLEASE!
The O.C. (2003-2007) – 👎
I only watched about half of the first season but it is incredibly basic. It didn’t live up to the hype at all.
A Midsummer Night’s Dream (1999) – 👍
Magical. Pun intended.
Moana (2016) – 👍
Culturally rich, inventive, funny, with a good soundtrack = Fine family fun!
The Merchant of Venice (2004) – 👍
As you can see, I’ve already watched two movies based on Shakespeare’s plays this month. I have Shakespeare as a module this semester (HOW EXCITING IS THAT!?!). I always like to watch the movie adaption of the play first, read the recommended secondary sources like the introductions in The Arden Shakespeare editions second and then of course read the play itself.
Elizabeth (1998) – 👍
I watched this movie with the intent of it helping me prepare Edmund Spenser’s Faerie Queene for my Romance In England class. It did help me put things into context and gave a very good depiction of the socio-political circumstances surrounding and essentially inspiring the text.
What is the best movie that you’ve watched in 2018 so far?
