Christmas Gift Guide

Christmas is so much worse as you get older. It’s like,

“What do you want this year?”

I don’t know, financial security? A career? A sense of purpose? A nap would be nice.

The idea of exchanging Christmas gifts was fairly simple once upon a time, but as a millennial, finding the right gift for someone oddly resembles playing Minecraft. You find yourself clicking on different blocks without a real purpose or plan and hope that the bomb doesn’t explode when clicking the check out option. It’s become such a guessing game that receipts have taken the place of cards and gift vouchers have become the impersonal, yet safe norm. It’s ironic how this tradition of exchanging gifts has been derived, perpetuated and commercialised from the actions of the Magi in the birth narrative of Christ. The Magi who are of course more commonly known as the wise men…

Hopefully this guide will inspire you to make wise gift purchases.

(And yes, I totally just gave my screen an awkward wink. I don’t know why I’m even including this, sarcasm always translates really well in text.)
